A Des Moines driver was cited after colliding with a 10-year-old boy who rode into the street on his bicycle and is now recovering at a hospital.
Just before 7 p.m. Sunday, a child rode his bicycle from a driveway into the 2300 block of East 11th Streetas a car passed, according to the crash report.The child hit the front corner of the driver's side and slid along the car, taking the side view mirror downwith him.
Medics rushed the boy to Mercy Medical Center with facial injuries and a broken arm. A hospital spokeswoman said Tuesday that the boy is in good condition and progressing well.
The driver, Demmeatri Dupree Warren, 31, was cited for driving with a suspended license.
Warren was cited for a similar twice more for driving with a suspended license on April 12, 2012, a $250 fine,and for driving while license suspended/revoked/denied/canceled on March 6, 2008, a $400 fine.
