It’s not an Olympic event, but riding on a bike across Iowa is no easy task.

RABGRAI begins Sunday in Sioux Center and ends Saturday in Clinton.

Towns along this year’s route are scrambling to prepare for visitors.

Riders will pass through Delmar on the last leg of the race. The riders will more than quadruple the small town’s population.

Organizers there are struggling to figure out how much water to have on hand.

The Iowa National Guard says it’s planning to help Delmar out.

The Guard is bringing in thousands of gallons of drinking water to supplement the city’s supply, should things run dry.
