<Bike Month 2010 IMAGE> Bike to Work Week

Next week kicks off the OFFICIAL Bike to Work Week for Iowa. May 17th -
21st,  If you are getting this email, then CONGRATULATIONS to you for
registering! You may be an avid year-long commuter already, or a
first-timer. It does not matter! We are all riding people-powered
transportation on two wheels. Riding your bike is what it's all about!

A battle for the top

It's been a battle of the Top 10s this year! This is bragging rights
for the rest of the year folks! Can your company or club make it to the
top 10 list?

For the Employers, Principal Financial Group (64) edges over Grinnell
College (62) and Rockwell Collins (58) this week. And for BOW WOW HOT
International (39) has remains tops over Grinnell Bike Club (35)
and Rockwell Collins Biking Community (31). Grinnell in both Top 10s? Kudos! You can check out the rest at
the links below.

Since we are celebrating "BIKE MONTH", Final numbers will not be
recorded until the end of the month. Soooo... You have plenty of
opportunities to still talk friends and coworkers into bicycling in May!

There will be more Winners drawn on Friday and more updates next week!

WEEK RECAP

Wow! This has been an exciting week … Saturday’s ARTCRANK event was a
huge success with over 800 people attending on the opening night! You
can see (and buy) the artwork at Instinct Gallery all month long!

Then,
on the 11th, we met with elected officials to thank them for continuing
to support the bike community with improved amenities. Later that day,
over 150 people participated in the first Wheels and Heels event held at
Jasper Winery!

The Bike Culture in the metro area is alive… and
growing! New faces, new enthusiasm... it is just wonderful to see how
the events we have planned for Bike Month have allowed and encouraged
new people to participate in ways they never have before. If you haven’t
made it out to a Bike Month event yet, we have many more planned for
the coming week – the following is a quick glance, but please go to
bikeiowa.com’s ride calendar to get all of the events and
details!
