United Kingdom Police release description of 'critically' injured cyclist POLICE have released further details of a cyclist ‘fighting for his life’ in hospital following a collision with a motorcycle in the Lake District. The cyclist, who remains in a critical condition in the Royal Preston Hospital, is described as a white man, aged between 30 and 50-years-old, of athletic stocky build, blue eyes and with short cropped strawberry or red coloured hair. He also has a silver hoop in his left ear. He was riding a black Ribble Scuro HCR carbon fibre road bike when he was involved in a collision with a grey BMW 1200cc motorcycle at around 11.10am at Dunmail Raise yesterday. Sergeant Paul Brown of Cumbria Police’s road policing unit said: “We are doing everything we can to identify this man but he was not carrying any identification and we have no matching reported missing people. “We need the public’s assistance. Has a family member not returned home from a cycling trip and do you recognise the description of either the man or the bike? “He is in a very critical condition and it is of the utmost importantance we let his family know where he is.” Anyone with any information is urged to call Cumbria Police on 0845 33 00 247.
