Cycle Studio Named For Bob Breedlove

DES MOINES, Iowa Des Moines Physician Died In 2005 Bicycle Ride Friends and family of well-known Des Moines physician Dr. Bob Breedlove honored his memory with a new addition to the Walnut Creek YMCA. Breedlove was killed while cycling in Race Across America. A new cycle studio at the YMCA now bears Breedlove's name. It has special lighting, better acoustics and the bikes are arranged in a stadium-seating style, so whole spinning classes can see the instructor. "I'm feeling intense pride today," said Gretchen Breedlove, Bob's widow. "I know Bob is looking down. This area of the Y is so dear to his heart." The YMCA said it is grateful to the Breedlove family for the funds they donated to help build the studio. Additional money is still being raised to cover the rest of the costs.
