The Rolling Prairie Bike Trail is fast becoming a tourist attraction and a recreational outing for residents of Butler County and the entire area. The Rolling Prairie Trail Web site, www.rollingprairie trail.org, is administered by the Butler County Development Group office and provides riders with a wide range of information about the trail. Residents can check out the events calendar, find trail heads, read the latest news regarding the expansion efforts and get local information for each section of the trail. Presently, the trail is paved from Wilder Park at Allison to Heery Woods State Park at Clarksville. Plans call for the section from Clarksville east to Shell Rock to be paved this summer. When completed, the trail will be paved for nearly 13 miles from Allison to Shell Rock. The long-range plan is to incorporate several existing trail segments and make a regional trail from Readlyn in Bremer County west to Coulter in Franklin County. For more information, call (319) 267-2858.
