Riverside Cyclocross Festival
The infamous “Harter’s Horseshoe” will be the highlighted feature for this weekends big event. The 6th Annual Riverside Cyclocross Festival is all set to go. Custom awards and over $2,000.00 in cash and prizes are ready to be won. Free food, beer and plenty of great racing awaits everyone at E.H. Young Riverfront Park this weekend (November 4th and 5th). Two great days of racing for Kansas City’s premier cyclo-cross event.
Several big changes are in store for this year’s event. First, due to the great popularity of the event we have expanded to two days of racing and due to the support of the City of Riverside, MO changed the name to the Riverside Cyclocross Festival (formerly the CrossLogic Cyclocross Challenge). Secondly, the course has been modified to include sections such as Mark’s Madness, Garmin’s Gully, Roger’s Red Brick road (yes cobbles for cross), Paceline’s Freeway and the infamous “Harter’s Horseshoe” which has more than doubled in size and brings riders down along the Missouri River then test them on the way back to the top. The 1.6 mile course will test riders of all abilities and is designed to allow great spectator viewing from just about anywhere in the park. Also new this year is the CycleOps warm-up tent and 53x11 coffee to get your ready for the day’s big events.
One thing that has remained the same is a great course, awesome free food, wonderful supporting staff and as always some unique awards and prizes. “The racers make this event what it has become. We get riders from all across the region to come here to KC to experience this event” say’s Event Director Chris Locke
