Police said a cyclist was possibly injured in a collision with a vehicle in Dubuque.

Aidan A. Tressel, 15, of Dubuque, complained of injury but was not transported to a medical facility. The incident occurred at around 7:15 a.m. Nov. 20 at the intersection of Clarke Drive and Locust Street, according to a police report.

Tressel, a student on his way to school, said he was in the crosswalk just northeast of the Clarke-Locust intersection when a vehicle driven by Daniel R. Erickson, 27, of Dubuque, traveling southwest on Clarke Drive, “slow-rolled” up to him and struck him, causing him to fall down, according to the report.

Erickson told police Tressel appeared to be stopped for traffic, but then suddenly entered the crosswalk and he was unable to stop in time.

The report states that the incident was out of view of nearby cameras and it is uncertain if Tressel failed to yield to traffic or if Erickson failed to yield to Tressel’s bike in the crosswalk.
