The Iowa Bicycle Coalition is wrapping up their statewide “Support Your Local Bike Shop Week” tour this week with stops in Muscatine, Waterloo, and Decorah. The tour highlights local cycling businesses and will provide publicity, marketing materials, and recognition for participating shops. Last year, the Coalition and its members visited over eighty local bike shops across Iowa during the annual event.
Each bike shop visited by the Coalition will be provided with their own social media “reel” courtesy of the Coalition team to highlight their business, and these reels will be posted by the Coalition on social media throughout the week. The Coalition encourages cyclists and supporters across Iowa to participate by visiting the local bike shop in their community, snapping a selfie with the owner or manager, and tagging the Iowa Bicycle Coalition on social media with the hashtag #IowaBikeShopTour. The Coalition is active on Facebook, X, and Instagram. Click here for social media graphics that the Coalition is encouraging participants to share.
