A project that began in late summer within Dallas County is going smoothly.
The Raccoon River Valley Trail Lighted Bridge on the east side of Adel is currently closed for rehabilitation. The work started at the tail end of July and according to Dallas County Conservation Director Curt Cable, the bridge is on track to reopen in the second half of October. He highlights the areas that are done.
“They got all the metal decking in place, they’ve got the handrail pocket put in place, and the steel rebar that supports the concrete.”
Cable notes that the contractor Minturn has faced some supplier issues, causing some delay in the project. As the work continues on the bridge, it will remain closed to the public until further notice.
