Officials with the Ottumwa Community School District identified the 8-year-old boy who died Tuesday after being hit by a truck.

An eight-year-old child died Tuesday after being hit by a vehicle while riding his bicycle. It happened in Ottumwa around 12:25 pm.
According to the Ottumwa Police Department, the boy was riding his bike in an alleyway in the 200 block of North Hancock Street when he was struck by a truck that was backing up.
No criminal charges have been filed by the crash remains under investigation. The child’s name has not been released.
