The Iowa Gravel Classic will take place Saturday, July 6, beginning at Whiterock Conservancy and following the gravel roads of Guthrie County.
The cycling event includes three races: the 100 Mile, which rides into Anita, the 100K and a non-timed 50K fun ride.
Whiterock Conservancy, a nonprofit land trust holding over 5,000 acres of forest, wetlands and oak savannah along the Middle Raccoon River, has 30 miles of multi-use trails available for hiking and mountain biking. Tent camping at Star Field is included with Gravel Classic registration.
This year, race organizer Cole Ledbetter redesigned the 100k (62-mile) route to ensure cyclists wouldn’t miss seeing the tree in the middle of the road, a symbol of the Gravel Classic.
