Marion Public Library members can check out electric bicycles.
MPL’s “Book-A-Bike” program lets borrowers use the motorized bikes for recreational or practical purposes, as long as they stay within Marion city limits.
“Some of these bicycles are prohibitively expensive,” said Darren Gradhandt, Marion Public Library. “It’s most appealing feature is the electric motor. That way it gives people who are maybe not as able to pedal a bike, to still get out there and enjoy the trails.”
To go for a spin, users need to have a library card and be at least 18 years old.
