A recreational trail on the edge of Le Mars used by bicyclists is often covered with gravel, which makes riding on it hazardous.
“It makes it tough,” said Tom Galles, who rides it every day, sometimes twice a day.
There is an ongoing problem with the trail along 18th Street on a stretch south and west of the Le Mars Municipal Airport just before it goes through the tunnel under the bypass out to the Agrivision Equipment store and the Wells Corporate Center, according to City Councilman Mark Sturgeon.
