A 13-year-old boy was injured by a truck while riding his bicycle at around 11:40 a.m. along 5th Street.According to authorities, the 13-year-old was riding his bike northward on the road along with one of his friends when he was clipped by the sideview mirror of a passing pickup truck heading in the same direction.
The initial contact with the pickup caused the young boy to fall from his bike into the path of the trailer that was being pulled behind the pickup, which ran him over. Reports state that the trailer was weighed down by the gasoline it was transporting. The 13-year-old did suffer serious injuries as a result of the accident. He was airlifted via helicopter to a hospital for treatment; his current condition is unknown. Authorities have not released any further information at this time.
