Two Des Moines residents scolded City Council members Monday for voting to keep a third driveway entrance into a strip mall on the city's northwest side — a decision, residents said, that prioritizes cars over pedestrians and bicyclists.
Rich Eychaner, the owner of Midwest Radio, Inc., which owns the Merle Hay Mart at 3839 Merle Hay Road, asked the City Council to reconsider a decision by the Des Moines Plan and Zoning Commission last month that would have stripped away one of three access driveways to the strip mall along Merle Hay Road.
