Polk County Trails Clean-Up Day

Help decide what trail in Polk County will get cleaned up on April 4th. YOU chose the Great Western Trail for the Trail cleanup. PLEASE help us beautify this trail this Sat at 11:00am.

Updated Mar 31st 8:15pm The overwhelming response was to clean up the Great Western Trail (GWT.) The GWT trail runs south from Park Ave in Des Moines, to Orilla, Cumming and Martensdale. Focus will be between Des Moines and Orilla. It time warrants, we will make our way to Cumming. CLEAN-UP DETAILS Please pass the word. The more volunteers we can get to show up, the more miles we can "beautify"! WHEN & WHERE This Saturday - April 5 4th at 11am 11:00 am to 3:00pm Parking at the trail head near Orlando's pizza We will clean up as much of the trail we can in a few hours. It goes much quicker with lots of people. come on out and help beautify the trail for the 2009 cycling season. Bring your Bike, of come on foot. We will coordinate efforts that morning.

Polk County with support from Craig Stafford and the Friends of Central Iowa Trails have offered to coordinate a trail clean-up day on April 5th 2009. The trail to be cleaned up will be decided by YOU. Tell us what trail need cleaned up the most and why. All submissions must be entered by March 27th. All input will be consolidated and the trail to be cleaned up will be announced in early April. THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PROVIDED INPUT. The survey is closed.
