"We enjoy riding as much as you!" There is a new bike shop in central Iowa, and we are opening our doors on Saturday March 15th!

BIKEIOWA is please to announce its newest 2008 sponsor – Kyle's Bikes Kyle's Bikes is a full service bike shop that caters to the Commuter crowd. We carry Specialized and Jamis bicycles and a ton of accessories and apparel! Kyle Robinson owns the shop. Kyle has been in the cycling industry for over 30 years and has been an Ankeny resident for 18 years. Kyle, an avid cyclist, enjoys commuting and pretty much all kinds of cycling including mountain biking, racing, race promotions, advocacy and riding with his family and friends. He chose the spot in southwest Ankeny for it's prime location. His shop sets 20 feet off of the bike trail! The Gay Lea Wilson Bike Trail will connect Ankeny with the popular Neal Smith Trail and the new Ankeny to Woodward Trail and several neighborhood connecting trails. The Neal Smith connection and the Ankeny to Woodward Trail will be completed in late 2008! The shop is across the street from the new "Prairie Trail" Development where 13 miles of new trail will wind through several hundred homes and businesses. Kyle's Bike is less than one mile West of the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC).

Experienced mechanics are on hand for all kinds of repairs, upgrades and tune-ups. Check out the special fitting room. Cycling Season is fast approaching! We've got a great selection of bikes IN STOCK and ready to go! We will be offering commuting classes for Bike To Work Week. As we get settled in, keep your eye on the BIKEIOWA calendar. We will have weekend rides leaving from the shop for all riding styles because "We enjoy riding as much as you!"
