Join the Dr. Bob Breedlove Memorial Ride on Saturday October 7, 2006 for a 100k and 200k ride. Ride starts in West Des Moines. Sag service, Water Stops and Route maps will be available. Come out for a good cause and get in some miles!

It's Another Day In Paradise, a bike ride on Saturday, October 7th to honor Dr. Bob Breedlove (Dr. Bob). Two options are available to riders: 100k ride and 200k ride. The 100k and 200k are un-timed tours designed for every rider.

RoutesThe 100 km route will go west on Ashworth Road, south to Booneville, then out F90 (Grand Ave.) to its end; P58 North to F31, east through Minburn to R16; through Dallas Center to Hickman Road and back to West Des Moines on the Raccoon River Valley Trail. The 200 km route will follow the same route to F31, but there it will turn west and take F31, P46, F25, P30 and E57 up to Cooper, where the ride returns to West Des Moines on the Raccoon River Valley Trail. Route maps will be available at Check-in.
ServicesRepairs will be available on the road portions of the route and “on call” for the trail at intersecting towns. Water stops will be available at approximately 20 mile intervals unless there is a nearby town with a convenience store or service station. Bring two water bottles. Sag services will be available “on call” after noon (except for emergencies) on the road portion of the route and where the trail intersects a town.
About Dr. Breedlove On June 23, 2005, Robert Breedlove, a Des Moines doctor who is an accomplished endurance bicycle racer, was killed southern Colorado during the Race Across America. Breedlove was an orthopedic surgeon in Des Moines and married for 30 years. He and his wife, Gretchen, have four children: Molly Wince, 27; Ann Brown, 25; Erika Breedlove, 21; and Bill Breedlove, 20.
