The Battle of Midwest Speed Merchants, Central Iowa Cycling and All9Yards.com... toss in a little Iowa City Cycling Club, too...

The second of four All9Yards.com WWPFF races took the park by storm last night. Great conditions and another fantastic turnout for a 5k run, 5k TT (duathlon and prologue), B and A racing. The B race was a little on the light side last night with some DMOS and All9Yards.com talent moving into the big leagues, but a big win in the overall went to new phenom Steve Flood. The A race was up to its usual hijinks with fast attacks by CICC, A9Y and MSM and counters by Mack's Lou Waugaman, hoping to break free of the chains. In the end, a three-man break went up the road with Brian West (CICC), Nathan Bartels (MSM) and Ross Schuchart (A9Y) taking the win and the overall Omnium. Coffee this morning with Lou, Collier, T-Pod and Gerald showed those MSM guys are ready to throw down in the 100K championships this weekend. They know ICCC will throw everything they have at them, including threats of a fabled kneebreaker 60-tooth chainring. Look for JJ Bailey to lead the MSM crew to the overall victory. Apparently, DMOS is fielding three teams, so they will have numbers on the field. Geek out with your freak out! G-Marco
