Iowa State Championships: Two Down, Two to Go in August!
This weekend is the State 100K Team Time Trial and next weekend completes the August swing with the State Criterium. We've seen quite a few fast and strong performances in the first few weeks of the month and there will be some big surprises to come!
I've seen the start of the cross season coming on for the past few weeks. Fliers and race dates and venues are coming out shortly, so get your crossers cleaned up and ready to rock this fall!
CASH MONEY...
$500 for first expert in Sugarbottom this weekend? Who is it going to be... Cam Kirkpatrick or Brian Eppen... is there a dark-horse spoiler out there in them-thar woods?
RANDY RANDY RANDY...
whew. I wasn't there, but seeing that he pulled down another big road win is pretty impressive. Randy Reichardt won the Iowa Games Road Race back in July and took the big 'V' at the Iowa State Road Championship. Congratulations and where is the upgrade?
Bummer A-Corn...
Andy Cornelison was the victim of overexuberance and the lack of a wider finish stretch. Unfortunately, he was disqualified after a great race, but he'll be back. Watch out for State Crit.
Midwest Results
I don't know who this Tony Nichols cat is, but he's been riding pretty strong this summer (okay, I haven't been around much) and pulled in some good results at ToKC last weekend.
SMART MONEY ON ICCC
Whomever is goign to be racing the State 100k this weekend, watch out for the ICCC squad. They're going to be leg breakers. Hopefully they conserve their energy and don't waste their batteries talking about their favorite Desperate Housewives and the hottest new fall styles from US and People.
MOST AVAILABLE RIDER OF THE YEAR...
Come on... lets just reduce the Iowa Rider of the Year to the following criteria:
A RACES:
State Championships
B RACES:
Any weekend race series including Altoona/Waterworks, Iowa City, Memorial Weekend, etc.
C RACES:
If your recognized team is not involved in any of the above, then one race you promote will fall here.
