When cyclists head to southern Iowa for the 31st riding of the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, July 20-26, they’ll be greeted by music, theatrics and flamboyant décor. - The Des Moines Register, June 29. That’s only part of it. Sure there was the cowboy church in Shenandoah, where worshippers dressed in Western garb and sang praises on high. Oh, and, of course, there was the one-man tambourine and tuba band in Bedford, the aquatic center in Osceola and the hobby stock car races in Oskaloosa.
