Dave Milburn was recently elected as the new President of Lake Country Cyclists (LCC)!
Who is LCC?
Lake Country Cyclists is a non-profit organization dedicated to the
safety, recreation, and education of road cycling. We provide planned
and orgaized daily and weekly rides and participate in other organized
rides in Iowa such as Cycle for Sight, the Mayors Ride, and RAGBRAI.
Where we ride
Most of our rides begin at the Lakeside Center (LCC) in Ankeny. LCC
is located in Hawkeye park - 400 NW Lakeshore Dr, Ankeny, IA 50023

About Dave
Dave lives with his
wife Penny in Johnston Iowa. They have two adult sons and a six year
old granddaughter. Dave’s operates his own company; Builder/ Buyer
Services Group where he manage warranty services for new home builders.
Penny works for the Iowa department of Education.
Dave and Penny
started riding when the kids were in high school and have completed
Ragbrai several times. They currently we have road bikes and this
summer obtained new mountain bikes.
They enjoy road cycling as well as Iowa trails. Additionally Dave and
Penny have had the opportunity to ride a little in Illinois, Missouri,
Minnesota, California, New Mexico and Colorado and hope to get many more
bike trips in several more states in the next few years.
LCC members asked Dave what he would like to accomplish as LCC president
Dave said
“During the next two years I am concerned about maintaining the momentum
established by Jim Coady, Don Peddy and Adam Wombacher and all of the
leaders and members. Many folks are more qualified but I will do my
best. I would like to make the public more aware of the club and see
more people join. It’s such a great group for all types of cycling.
Working with the club, trails and central Iowa communities to increase
safety and welcome more people to our sport. To increase our ranking as
a bike friendly community is a primary goal. I appreciate the
opportunity to give back a little to the club and look forward to biking
with everyone as time permits.”
