UPDATE 8/23/10 8:15pm What great day it was for the 1st annual Urban Assault ride in Des Moines! Congratulations to Des Moines for being the BIGGEST first year event EVER!!! Kudos to Josh and his crew for coming in and putting on a top-notch event! What a well-oiled machine! Des Moines was the 11th stop on the 2010 Urban Assault Ride tour, and the smallest city to be chosen to host the event.

Everyone I spoke to had a fantastic time! We rode hard, played hard, drank hard, got wet, got muddy, passed people, got passed, rode big wheels, swam, and got wet again and much much more! As posted by Josh, the Urban Assault coordinator... "Ahhh.....what a great day in DSM. 640 riders, almost 60 kegs of beer, and more big wheel power slides than I've ever seen. Thanks to all the great volunteers from our friends and beneficiary Des Moines Bike Collective, Mullets, el Bait Shop, RL Bennett, Bike Iowa, and of course all of you for coming out and trying some thing new and different. Thank you - thank you all!" Josh also had a classic comment before the race started: "I think this is the most people I've ever seen drinking BEFORE the race." RESULTS have been posted. Des Moines IA - August 22nd, 2010 We're pretty sure the UAR is the most fun you'll have on a bike. A new addition for the UAR. We've been asked, 'Why Des Moines of all places?' We'll tell you why - because you all love your bikes and beer! We'll be bringing it this year for sure! Des Moines has never seen anything quite like the New Belgium Urban Assault Ride before. Come join us and let's see if we can take over Minneapolis' crown of biggest 1st year Urban Assault Ride!

C'mon Iowa. We live for this stuff! You'll just be getting back into reality less than one month after RAGBRAI and looking for another party! Well... This is it! This bike-based scavenger hunt will send you all over the Des Moines in a race to complete a series of obstacle courses and other challenges before hitting the beer-tent after-party. Costumes and themed attire is a must! Well, it's not required, but you'll have a better time! You may be bike jousting, big-wheel-ridin', keg walkin', doin' the limbo, and more. Get your team to come down to Des Moines and play for the day! REGISTER NOW Watch for special Urban Assault promotions along the RAGBRAI route!

Don't let the recession spoil your good times. We are an equal opportunity event and pleased to announce we have a limited number of free and reduced-price entries for those who could use a lucky break.

We have a limited number of free registrations available for each event. In order to qualify, you and your teammate must be able to work packet pick up on Saturday before the UAR.
Once the packet pick up spots are filled, we can work with you on the price of the entry fee. Email Jackie@adventurefit.com to make it happen.

Volunteer Opportunities:
