The official event logo for RAGBRAI XXXVIII was introduced and official apparel featuring the new marks is available for purchase on SHOP.RAGBRAI.ORG. An iconic rooster is featured prominently on the event marks with a weathervane that includes a city and country landscape design and corn. Mark Marturello of The Des Moines Register, prominently known for his illustration designed the 2010 RAGBRAI logo. Marturello said, "I used a weathervane in the design as that is one of the objects that the riders will see that is truly 'Iowa' as they travel throughout the state on RAGBRAI. Having the arrow point from west to east indicates the direction the riders will take on their journey." The event marks introduce an array of rustic colors blended with the design. Riders are sure to relate to the event marks of the rooster, landscape and corn if they have experienced and enjoyed past rides. RAGBRAI XXXVIII products currently available for purchase at SHOP.RAGBRAI.ORG include a long-sleeve T-shirt and sweatshirt. Additional apparel and gift items are scheduled to release in early 2010. Do you want to be there as the RAGBRAI XXXVIII overnight towns are revealed? Then join us for the inaugural RAGBRAI Route Announcement Party benefitting the Iowa Bicycle Coalition on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Iowa Event Center's Hy-Vee Hall in Downtown Des Moines. Only 500 tickets will be sold for the event! RAGBRAI and the Iowa Bicycle Coalition have worked together for the past several years to bring you the Iowa Bicycle Summit . This year's Summit will again include advocacy workshops and the January Meeting for Clubs and Teams. The Summit has traditionally ended with the "Bike Night" celebration. This year, the event takes on a new spin as a cycling-filled evening of fun concludes with the revealing of the much anticipated RAGBRAI XXXVIII route. The evening will feature live music with a special acoustical duo performance by The Nadas, who have entertained RAGBRAI riders for many years including recent stops in Greenfield, Ames and Cedar Falls. In addition to live music and the RAGBRAI route announcement, this special night will feature:
