Tour de Lights 2009 Jolly Holiday Lights is a Des Moines tradition. Enjoy this spectacular display from your bike! All event proceeds benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Now you can enjoy the wonder of Jolly Holiday Lights from an entirely different perspective. Join us for Tour de Lights, a special one-night-only preview event that will let you walk, run, or bike your way through our winter wonderland. There is a $5.00 entry fee per person. Children under three are free. You'll also have the opportunity to raise money for Make-A-Wish Foundation by getting pledges from friends, family, co-workers and neighbors. Each participant that raises just $15 more in pledges will earn a long-sleeved Tour de Lights T-shirt or T-shirts can be pre-ordered at the $15.00 price. It's a great excuse to get out of the house and benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation's efforts to grant wishes to Iowa children with life-threatening medical conditions. Choose from walk/run routes of 1.5 or 3.5 miles or bike routes of 3.5 or 11 miles. Avid bikers will enjoy the 11 mile route that starts downtown and utilizes a trail to get you to Water Works Park. Cyclist meet at the el Bait Shop 200 SW 2nd St., Des Moines. Opens at 4 p.m. for registration and social.
