Charity Ride

Distance - Both 20 and 30 mile routes

The RAGBRAI group and the Des Moines Register are co-sponsoring the 24th Annual mayor's Ride, which has a goal of improving and helping to maintain Des Moines's recreational trail system. Mayor T. M. Franklin Cownie will lead the ride assisted by The Register's Dream Team. The ride will begin at City Hall, 400 Robert D. Ray Drive at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 16, 2011.

Route

The regular 30-mile route will travel through many Des Moines neighborhoods, with a shorter 20-mile route available.

Registration

Participants may register on-line at www.dmparks.org, or at the City Hall Information Center, 400 Robert D. Ray Drive, between 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Each Individual must pre-register to participate in this fun event. The registration Fee is $25.00 per adult and $5.00 for children ages 5 through 18 years. Ages 4 and under are free. Your registration fee includes refreshments at the community rest stop, post-ride festivities at the Simon Estes Riverfront Amphitheater, sag support and a repair van.
