Distance - 30 miles with optional side loops

Take a 30 mile ride on the official interstate trail connecting Iowa to Minnesota. The Wapsi-Great Western Line rolls you through nature preserves - Amish and Mennonite Country - just simple rural beauty. And the people? Well, most of the volunteers have dedicated a third of their lives to shaving and showcasing this gem. They are more than welcoming. They are excited and energized to have you experience the Wapsi-Great Western Line!

Route

Your gorgeous ride takes place on a paved trail that kisses passed a Butterfly Garden, wraps around an ice blue lake and takes you through the heart of woods and restored prairie. The Border Bike will propel through fertile fields, groves of trees, across historic bridges to a hidden boardwalk and marshland. The course starts and ends at the trailhead. The Border Bike has two short segments near the MN border which are crushed limescreenings. JOIN THE MOVEMENT WGWL is the Gateway to Iowa - the Gateway to Minnesota. Experience it!
