Just Plain Fun

Distance - Six miles, 28 miles, or 48 miles

SIANOMO will take an all-Iowa route this year. The ride starts at the Gateway Welcome Center at Exit 4, Interstate 35 and travels over the 5 1/2-mile concrete Lamoni Recreational Trail. Riders may elect to turn back to Lamoni at this point or head for the hills. Minimal auto traffic in back country area. Several SAG stops with refreshments. Long run has challenging hills for those who dare. All roads lead to city park with hamburgers sizzling.

Route

5 1/2 miles of cement-surfaced trail through forested canopy and around scenic local lake--followed by one of the following three routes. (Route #1) Riders may cover only the Lamoni Trail portion and then head for Central Park. (Route #2) After completing Trail, riders will make a 28-mile hard-surface loop through scenic Amish countryside to end at Lamoni Central Park. (Route #3) After completing Trail, riders will make a 48-mile hard-surface loop over some moderately challenging hills in Decatur and Ringgold Counties to end at Lamoni Central Park.
