Distance - 46 miles

Let's face it, nobody but Jo the Hammer is ever actually in shape in time for the paper's ride, but here's your chance to take one last whack at the windmill, anyway. Does this sound like you? Does Charlie Sheen have Heidi Fleis on speed-dial? Would a guy named "Scooter" do well in stir? Could you hang a fern from Sunpter's chin-fur? So why not join the Pirates on a day filled with so much beer and biking that the coroner's report is sure to include the words "blunt instrument"? Your liver, legs, and butt will thank you next week.

Route

From Anthony's, take the bike trail to Legends in Pleasant Hill. Then take more trail to the south side, turnEast on Parkridge/6th, and follow the Pirate signs as you zig-zag the maze of blacktops to Runnells. Then straight North to Mitchellville. Jump over I-80, and ride West to the Wooden Nickel in Bondurant. Then it's back South to Altoona. Maps so artsy-fartsy, you'll want to talk to Jon and Bear about how much time they spend on the computer. They'll be available from the back of Rick's bike shorts. Don't ask, it's Tammy's trip.....
