Recap/Results

Thanks to everyone who came out and made this first event out of four a huge success! Everyone had a great time and the war stories at Orlandos afterwards was great!

We appreciate everyone's patience while we got this new format off the ground - it is a great opportunity to race mid-week in this fantastic park, have some fun with your friends and raise money for a great cause - the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Randy Reichardt (Haulin' @ss) showed that the hard-man style of a time trial (no aero equipment, borrowed bike) proves who is strongest in the 5k prologue. He opened up a three point gap on Dave Lippold (CICC) that would prove dangerous in the Circuit Race. Kurt Hantelman (CICC) came in third.

###
The A race was the prime event of the evening with lots of hard efforts and fast breaks. Kurt Hantelman (CICC) and Jim Robidoux ( All9Yards.com) got off the front for a dangerous breakaway, using their substantial TT power to stay away from the field. After a few reshuffles of the breaks and field, a six-man break shut down the race by powering off the front. Randy and Doug Reichardt (Haulin @ss), Lane Anderson, Chad Vandelune & Scott Fairbarn ( All9Yards.com) and Dave Lippold (CICC) made the break with the top places in the overall reprsenting.

The race was called short of the 60min + 2 laps due to darkness, and of course, the skies opened up with two to go. Fairbairn was racing an inspired A event, pulling the field to make Doug Reichardt cover his move for Randy Reichardt. Coming around the last corner in the finish, Vandelune slid out, sending Doug Reichardt off 150' into the grass with Randy Reichardt and Anderson vying for the win - with Randy Reichardt taking the overall with a perfect score by two bike lengths.
