Join us for the 4th annual East-West Groveler Race. Using the Platte River as our divide, you will be able to register to join the East team or the West team depending on which side of the river you live.
Proceeds will go to support the Wear Yellow Cab Ride Program, providing transportation to and from treatment for our fellow Nebraska Cancer Survivors.
When: Saturday, October 8th at 10:00AM.
Where: OxBow Trail Parking Lot, 1241 Silver Street, Ashland, NE 68003
Course: 40ish miles. Route released week of race.
Divisions: East - racers living east of Platte River, West - racers living on west of Platte River. Be sure to enter which bike shop you want to represent, this is key for the winning team!
Fees: $35 per racer and you must register by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, October 5th. $40 Day Of.
Rules: The Team with the lowest number of points wins! Once registration closes, team size will be set be lowest number of participants signed up for the East or West team. Finishers receive a point equal to their finish position. As a bonus for some of our die hard riders, a point will be subtracted for single speed category, fat tire and to encourage our female friends to get out and ride gravel with us, female team finishers. Tie breaker will go to largest team, so everyone counts! The highest scoring team will be groveling about their gravel loss until next year!
Yes, there will be a trophy that the winning team can celebrate and proudly display for a year and goodie bags for our participants. But there will be a twist as to where the trophy lands this year. Watch for key details when registration opens!
The Groveler is presented by Wear Yellow Nebraska with our partners, Trek Midtown, Cycle Works, Edge Physical Therapy, and Sid Dillon. Proceeds will be donated to Wear Yellow Nebraska and designated for Lincoln services if the West team wins or Omaha if the East team wins.
Race is self-supported. Of course there will be adult beverages and additional meals available to purchase post-race. No refunds or transfers.
Post Race: Stop back after the race for lunch, live music, raffle items and the trophy presentation.
The East team is up at 2-1, but for this year, the trophy made its way to Cycle Works in Lincoln. Will it remain there, or will the East team avenge their loss and take the trophy and bragging rights to back to Omaha?
