Start the season out with a "BANG" or a blister!
Starting the ride from Spring Lake Park (Greene, Co) at 7am (we will have the wind at our backs heading North in the afternoon) we will head South and pick up the Raccoon River Valley Trail at Jamaica (19 miles of paved county road). At Jamaica we will head WEST to Yale and Panora. Then bike the entire loop back up to Perry. At Perry we will head north to Rippey (BRRRRR) to the south west side of Grand Junction and then back to Spring Lake (22 miles). The route will be marked with red and white markers. There will be LIMITED support our public venues along the way due to the pandemic so please plan on traveling light and fast. NO SAG WAGON but call my cell and I can arrange a PU. THIS IS A RIDE and NOT A PARTY. We will plan the party next season. I will plan a pork lunch somewhere along the way for everyone to refuel.
This is an "informal" event and just a great way to start the season! Don't expect much, it is our first ever semi-organized event. We just want to RIDE! There are GREAT places along the way to jump on the trail so join us for however long you want.
Full service camping is available and plenty of safe, secure parking but be aware that it being Memorial Day Weekend you may need to reserve a campsite in advance. Go to: www.MyCountyParks.org and search for Spring Lake Park in Greene County..
At the end I will plan some sort of a dinner for everyone. Not sure what but it will be simple due to the fact that my asswillbecrackin indeed.
Lets have some FUN and enjoy the day together!
