Road

Distance - 51 miles, with a 31 mile option available.

Hosted by the Pella Cycling Club, Tour de Rock is a scenic bike ride showcasing the local scenery around the Pella and Knoxville area, as well as multiple viewing points of beautiful Lake Red Rock. The 51 mile route will feature a mix of county highways and the Volksweg Trail with multiple rest stops along the route. The road section of the route will be marked with signs and sag support is available.  

Snacks available at sign up and along the route at designated rest stops. Lunch will be available when you return to the North Overlook Picnic shelter, free will offering.

Route

The 51 mile route features county highways and the Volksweg Trail. Ride starts at the North Overlook Picnic Shelter, across from North Overlook Campground and traverses local county highways that will be open to traffic and last part of the ride is on the Volkweg Trail from North Overlook to Cordova Park and back to North Overlook shelter where the ride started.  You can also stop prior to the trail section for the shorter 31 mile route option.  See attached map.

Rest stops available:

• Casey's in Pella (on your own)
• Whitebreast Camp parking lot at mile 22 - water and snacks
• North Overlook shelter at mile 31 (prior to trail section of the ride) - water and snacks
• Finish at North Overlook shelter - lunch

Registration

Sign up begins at 8:30 am day of ride. Registration is required and free, but accepting free will donations.
