One day rain delay!  Race moved to Sunday, June 5th.  Same start times.

On Saturday, June 4th, the Iowa Mountain Bike Championship Series pulls into Banner State Park for the Summerset Shootout. Back in the 1930's, the state park was home to one of Iowa's largest strip mines. Over the past seven years, the Central Iowa Trails Association in cooperation with the Iowa DNR has transformed the abandoned strip mine into over five miles of narrow tread, tight and twisty single track.

 

FAT BIKE!!  Besides the normal IMBCS series classes a Fat Tire class will be added starting at 10:30am; sign up day of race (no pre-registration).  Fat tire width must be 3.6 inches or greater. 2 modified laps.  

There will also be a trail run starting at 9:00 am; sign up day of race (no pre-registration),  1 lap.

 

Classes may be combined and races by be shortened if conditions warrant. 

Route

Full lap at Banner is 5.4 miles and includes Coal Miner's Daughter, New Ed Beach, Missing Link, Corner Pocket, park road, Riverside, park road, and Extra Credit.  Visit the IMBCS website for more information and a link to the course in Strava.

Free Kids Race 10:00am - cookies and medals to all participants!

Cat 3 and Juniors: 10:30am

Cat 1, Comp, and Cat 2: High Noon

There will be day of registration only for the follow two special races:

Trail Run - 1 lap.  9:00am. $20

Fat Bike race - 2 modified laps.  3.6" tire or greater  10:30am.  $20
