The Marshmallo ride is the annual ride of the Iowa Valley Bicycle Club in Marshalltown, IA. There are four different lengths of rides (30, 37, 55, 100). The ride is headquartered this year at the Riverview Park Community Building - Riverview Park is on the Iowa River, Hwy 14, north edge of Marshalltown. All rides travel out (and back) on the Linn Creek Greenbelt Recreational Trail. The 37 mile ride is all on trails all the way to Melbourne, IA where there will be a rest stop before returning to Riverview. The 55 mile ride splits off in Melbourne and travels via county road east to Haverhill, IA - riders can purchase lunch at the Haverhill Social Club. The 100 mile ride continues south out of Melbourne on county roads to Baxter, IA where they will pick up the Chichaqua Valley Trail riding 20 miles to the Bondurant trailhead turnaround point, where riders will be served a hamburger/cheeseburger lunch. This year we are adding a 30 mile gravel ride. The ride will travel south to Haverhill with a plan to meet-up with the 55 mile road riders at the Haverhill Social Club. The 100 mile ride rolls out of Riverview at 7:00 am - registration starts at 6:30 am. All other rides have a shotgun start at 9:00 am - registration opens at 8:00 am. When riders return to Riverview there will be a pulled pork sandwich meal - with an option for a short ride uptown to the Iowa River Brewing Co. for some post ride libation.Ride brochure at www.marshalltownbikeclub.com (after April 1).
