Iowa's Ride, conceived as a weeklong bicycletrek across the state, is now slated to be a weekend outing.
The organization announced Tuesday on its Facebook page that the inaugural2021 ride, slated for July 18-24 from Dubuque to Rock Rapids, will instead be a July 16-18 gathering in Eldora, which had been slated to be the ride's third overnight stop.
There will be a "40 to 50"mile ride on July 17— a Saturday—with"several riding options to enjoy on Friday and Sunday," the Facebook posting said.
Iowa's ride director T.J. Juskiewicz did not return a call seeking comment.
It's the latest in a series of revisions to the ride, which was intended to be a rival to the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa.
