2021’s Bike Month was rescheduled to September in order to maximize the chances of returning to our traditional format.

Taking advantage of the huge increase in walking and biking during the pandemic, Bike Month - September Celebration will help people across the region ride for fun, fitness, commuting, or any other reason that gets them there on two wheels!

National Bike Month celebrates the weekend trail riders, the daily commuters, the distance rollers, and lovers of all things bikes here in Central Iowa. Sponsored by the Street Collective of Greater Des Moines, Bike Month offers classic bike month events and rides--such as the PedalArt Show, Coolest Bike In Town, and City Rides--and new events for the whole family!?

There are 20+ events happening in September to celebrate Bike Month !

All Events are listed on BIKEIOWA and on the Street Collective's website. Watch their Facebook page for further updates!?

The Older Urban Riders (TOUR) Ride - Easter Lake Ride Sept 1

Black Girls Do Bike - Community Ride Sept 3

COVID-19 Procedure: All events will follow CDC guidelines. We encourage masking and will continue to monitor the case rate in Polk County as these events approach. If things get worse, we will either mandate masks or cancel the event. Cancelling the event would be the last case scenario.
