Quality Bicycle Products is now accepting applications for its annual Community Grant program, which provides key funding for retailer-led initiatives that support increasing bicycle ridership among diverse and/or underserved populations, youth ridership, bicycle infrastructure, or educational programs.
The QBP Community Grant program awarded nearly $100k since its inception in 2018, for projects ranging from bike park construction to bike repair classes for youth to obtaining bikes for elementary school physical education classes. Grants are awarded to projects throughout North America, each administered through a specialty bike retailer who participates in QBP’s Dealer’s Choice.
“Community Grantis a great way for specialty retailers to start and foster bike ridership in youth and underserved populations in their own communities," said Gary Sjoquist, QBP Community Grant Director. “It connects great suppliers with retailers in order to bring real, positive change to the communities that will benefit the most.”
The $60,000 grant pool for 2020 is made possible from the donations of participating Dealer’s Choice brands and QBP. Individual award amounts will vary based on the number of selected projects and project scale.
