The

extension is partially completed.
7/10th of a mile of new trail was poured from 1st Street (South-most end of trail) almost to Highway 69.
The Trail extension will eventually cross hwy 69, and continue South crossing SW Oralabor Road and connecting with the
Oralabor Gateway Trail
.
SIGNAL CROSSING
There is a new bike and ped signal crossing to get users safely across 1st Street. Please use it!
CONNECTIONS
The Oralabor Gateway Trail connects to the Neal Smith Trail and the Gay Lea Wilson Trail.
The
Neal Smith Trail
connects to Des Moines and the
Gay Lea Wilson Trail
connects to the
Chichaqua Valley Trail
and East Des Moines...
Get the picture ?!?
This will be a SUPER-NICE Trail Connection through Ankeny to some other major trails!
AMP
You'll also notice some major construction near the 1st street trailhead near Fire Trucker Brewery. This is the home to the
Ankeny
Market & Pavilion
(
AMP
).
The AMP project includes the construction of two 50’ x 100’ open-air pavilions, a paved plaza, a restroom facility and a trail hub. Additional features include signage and a natural play space.
It will also be the Future home for the Ankeny Farmer's Market and a destination for cyclists.
