Captain Roys is hosting filmmaker and long time cyclist David Mable for a presentation about filming along the Iditarod Trail and his latest film: Down the Kuskokwim.
In 2019 Mable joined fat biker Steve Cannon in Alaska, filming while Cannon rode the 1000 mile frozen trail from Anchorage to Nome. Mable's film 1000 Miles to Nome chronicled Cannon's ride, as well as several others who traveled the sled dog trail by bike and foot.
This past summer, Mable swept up the scraps of leftover film and pieced together Down the Kuskokwim, a short film about the 300-mile race to McGrath along the same trail.
Join Mable for never-before-told stories of traveling through the Alaska Range in through the western interior to the frozen Bering Sea and the Des Moines premier of the award-winning film.
