January 2015 is almost in the books. If you made it to Des Moines last weekend, you can see why Iowa is a cycling mecca! Friday was the Iowa Bicycle Summit where hundreds of advocates gathered, Saturday was the Iowa Bike Expo - Biggest to date and is going to grow more next year, and the Saturday evening was the RAGBRAI Route Announcement Party. Thousands of cyclists attended last weekend. Thanks to those who stopped by the BIKEIOWA booth. Make sure you check out the February Events. First off is the BRR Ride in Perry. You cannot miss this one! The 2015 Calendar is starting to fill up as event coordinators are adding new events daily. If you have not added yours yet... you can do so here. Within the last month, we've made some site enhancements for you viewing pleasure. - If you like maps, we've got 'em! Every City and Trail Portal shows a Google map now.
- There is a new "Map" view and a "Calendar" view for the Event Calendar.
- The events also show up much better on iPads, iPhones and other mobile devices.
- There is a new "Featured Events" section on the Events Calendar too.
- We are working on more maps for the Sponsors, Lodging, Ride of Silence, Bicycle Friendly Business/Communities and more.
We've upgraded the BIKEIOWA to work much better on mobile devices and we added some new BIKEIOWA Gear!. Check out the new jerseys, hoodies, cycling caps, trucker cap and waterproof wallets.
