Back with another Ride Reminder just in time for Bike Month!
As we roll into May, we see we see the number of cycling events and destination rides explode! The event list below is only for the next 15 days! Wow! We are liking the Destination Rides that are popping up during the week. Make sure you check out the Blog explaining more about what Destination Rides are and why we like them.
We want to give HIGH-FIVES to all the peeps racing Trans Iowa this weekend. Trans Iowa is a self-navigated, self-supported, non-stop, 300-plus mile race on some of Iowa's most brutal gravel roads. There have not been that many finishers in the last nine years and the wet April weather plays a big part in who finishes! Believe it or not, this semi-underground event is just a popular as RAGBRAI in the world of endurance gravel racing. The start time is 2 am on Saturday, April 26th in Grinnell. Catch race updates on TRANS IOWA RADIO throughout the event.
This weekend we are playing. On Saturday we'll be rolling on the first Fat Tire Fun Ride of the season going from Mickey's Irish Pub in Waukee to The Kickstand in Perry. We'll ride on the Raccoon River Valley Trail's new North Loop. Saturday weather is projected to be a warm 77 degrees and Sunny! On Sunday we plan on hitting the High Trestle Trail Sunday Funday Ride at the Nite Hawk Lounge. Join us if you can.
A reminder that as temperatures increase, so do bike thefts. Be sure to write down and take photos of your serial numbers, your bike and the accessories and gear you have on your bike. Having this information makes it MUCH easier for the police to recover your bicycle and makes working with the insurance company a breeze.
