The Carroll County Board of Supervisors has fast-tracked an ordinance change affecting vendors planning to operate in the county’s rural areas when RAGBRAI passes through the region later this year. Board Chair Stephannie Hausman explains how this ordinance will apply when tens of thousands of riders come through the region.
The permitting process is a means for the county to ensure vendors, particularly food vendors, are appropriately equipped and registered for RAGBRAI. The supervisors stress this only applies to areas outside of incorporated city limits. Carroll has been selected as an overnight stop for Monday, July 24, but Hausman says it is still being determined what route riders will take.
