A local Executive Committee has formed to plan and coordinate this summer’s visit of thousands of bicyclists spending the night in Carroll Monday, July 24, the third overnight stop of the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI).
Carroll looks forward to the return of RAGBRAI for the fifth time, the first since 2011, especially as it celebrates its 50th anniversary this summer. Carroll also hosted RAGBRAI in 1980, 1988, and 1994.
“We’re certainly excited for this opportunity to welcome bicyclists and visitors to Carroll,” said Lynda Dukes Franey, who looks forward to serving a second time on the Executive Committee. “Mike and I are excited to have been asked to serve on the 50th anniversary RAGBRAI Executive Committee with some great like-minded Carroll area leaders. 2011 gave us some great experience to draw from.”
