Three bicyclists were injured after being hit by a vehicle on Dallas County Road R22 on Wednesday, authorities said.
Todd Bindel, 36, of West Des Moines, Brian Terhark, 49, of Clive and Chad Roethler, 45, of Urbandale were all taken to local hospitals for medical treatment after the crash, according to an Iowa State Patrol report. Their medical conditions were not immediately available Thursday morning.
All three bicyclists were struck at about 7:45 p.m. while riding south on County Road R22.
Renae Deaver, 36, of Dallas Center was driving south on the same road when she didn't see the bicyclists and crashed into them, according to the report. She was driving a 2011 Toyota Sienna.
All three bicyclists were thrown into the ditch. All were wearing helmets, according to the report.
It appears that alcohol was not a factor in the crash, said Trooper Alex Dinkla, State Patrol spokesman. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
No one had been cited as of Thursday afternoon, as state troopers' investigation was ongoing.
