Not only is the Quad-Cities Bicycle Club celebrating Davenport being
the end point of an iconic bicycle ride, but also it’s celebrating an
award for being such a vital part of the legendary Iowa trek.

Harrington of Bettendorf, club president, is elated that the club has
earned the RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa)
Riders Cup. The award was given out Saturday in Des Moines simultaneous
with the announcement that the end point for RAGBRAI once again will be
Davenport — the same day that thousands of runners be on hand for the
annual Quad-City Times Bix 7 race.
The last time RAGBRAI ended in Davenport was in 2011.
“The
last time it came to Davenport, several others and I met with (RAGBRAI
directorTJ Juskiewicz) and introduced him to the Quad-Cities.”
