A Guthrie Center man died after the bike he was riding was struck by a pickup truck Wednesday.
The collision happened east of Guthrie Center on Highway 44 around 5:38 p.m., according to a crash report from the Iowa State Patrol. Wayne Hayes, 69, was cycling westbound on Highway 44 just east of Bluff Street, and was pulling a bicycle buggy, when he was hit by a westbound Ford F-150.
Hayes was transported to the Guthrie County Hospital where he later died from injuries received in the crash.
The report did not list any injuries to the driver of the truck, 83-year-old Francis Flanery of Panora.
The ISP is continuing to investigate the crash.
