Navigating the city on two wheels may soon be a bit easier.
The City of Ames' enhanced local cycling plan will be revealed to the public Wednesday evening after nearly a year of development.
Residents can comment on the city's "Walk Bike Roll Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan" from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Ames City Hall. The initiative will address trail infrastructure and wayfinding for cyclists using Ames’ trail system and sidewalks.
Grant Olsen, a member of the citizen advisory committee who helped draft the plan, said the "Walk Bike Roll Bicycle and Pedestrian" plan will increase signage and visibility. The updates will allow bicyclists to find their way around town without needing a map by highlighting many of Ames’ major destinations and how to reach them by bike.
