What’s the Big Wheel Rally?

A Big Wheel Rally is an opportunity for people to get together, show off their creative talents and help a great cause. Participants ride their “big wheels” down Ingersoll Avenue in Des Moines. All proceeds collected from sponsors are given to the Children’s Cancer Connection.

Buy and Donate

In order to be guaranteed a shirt, you must order online. We print a very small amount of extra shirts to sell the day of the event to keep our costs down.
Deadline for shirt orders is midnight 11/28/2012.

YOU *MUST* PICK UP YOUR SHIRT AT THE BIG WHEEL RALLY in Des Moines on Sat December 8th.

How much do I need to donate?

Last year’s sponsorships raised over $35,000. This year’s target is $40,000. Help us meet our goal by donating as much as you can!

Get your name on our shirts!

Sponsor donations at or above the $250 level are thanked with their name printed on the back of our Rally shirts. In addition, sponsors will receive a shirt and business notoriety.

Sponsor donations need to be received by November 25 to ensure name placement.

When you become a sponsor

By being a sponsor, not only will you make a difference in the lives of children and families affected by cancer, you’ll also receive recognition for your business. Donations are tax deductible.

How do I donate?

Online: www.childrenscancerconnection.org
Click on the “Donations” menu at the top of the page, then choose “Big Wheel Rally” from the Program drop down menu.

By Mail: Mail checks to the Children’s Cancer Connection, 1221 Center Street, Suite 12, Des Moines, IA. 50309-1014. Please write “Big Wheel Rally” in the memo.

In Person: Donations will be accepted by the event coordinators (see Contact Information below) and sent directly to the Children’sCancer Connection.

What’s the Children’s Cancer Connection?

The Children’s Cancer Connection, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, has provided support services and programs for children and families affected by cancer in the State of Iowa since 1988. The organization sponsors two, week-long summer camps for children with cancer and their siblings. Approximately 400 children attend camps each year. Children’s Cancer Connection also provides support through weekend retreats and educational materials.

Why are these programs important?

Programs offered by the Children’s Cancer Connection provide a forum for children to talk about their feelings and spend time with kids who understand them. Several children who attend camp say it’s the best week of their year because they are finally just kids. Families also benefit from these programs because siblings have their time to be special and parents are provided invaluable organizational materials.
